US Considers Adjusting Korea Policy: Newspaper
Beijing, July 29 (KCNA) -- The Chinese People's Daily carried an article titled "Trend of DPRK-U.S. Relations Draws Attention" on Thursday.

The opening of talks between the DPRK and the U.S. is the former's persistent effort to have bilateral talks. It also implies that the U.S. position concerning the Korean nuclear issue has been eased to some degree.

The DPRK already informed the UN Security Council of its nuclear research and is now expressing a good will through escalating diplomatic arbitration.

Above all, it is foiling the UN Security Council's resolutions No. 1718 and No. 1874 calling for sanctions against the country through improved relations and cooperation with neighboring nations.

From the practical point of view, a closed-door contact channel remains open between the DPRK and the U.S.

With both military and economic sanctions failing to prove effective, the U.S. has begun to consider policy adjustment.

The DPRK, availing itself of the talks, may launch an open-hearted and feasible exchange with the U.S.

The U.S. formal invitation of a DPRK official to visit the country shows that the DPRK's long-time effort has scored some results.
