Pyongyang Ready to Perform Arirang
Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- Preparations for the grand gymnastic and artistic performance "Arirang" have come to an end in the DPRK.

A large electronic display reading Grand Gymnastic and Artistic Performance "Arirang" is seen in the main entrance of May Day Stadium, the venue of the performance, in Pyongyang.

Colorful illuminators and decoration lights newly installed around the venue add to the architectural beauty of the stadium and the landscape of the area.

The performers are now engaged in dress rehearsal at the stadium.

The annual event, involving famous Korean music, dance, gymnastic and acrobatic pieces, background arts, up-to-date instruments and lighting apparatuses, is supplemented with new and modern things in content and performance.

Kim Mok Ryong, senior director of the performance, told KCNA:

A miniature of Mt. Paektu in the prologue is portrayed in a three-dimensional way, differently from before.

The scene "My Prospering Country" is changed into "Country of Fruit Culture and Fish Farming" to represent the developing fruit and fish farming of the DPRK.

"Friendship Arirang" and some other scenes have also been revised.

The performance consists of eight chapters and nineteen scenes.

The world-famous extravaganza will provide spectators with a good knowledge of the history of the DPRK's development.
