Anniversary of Factory College Marked
Pyongyang, July 28 (KCNA) -- 60 years have passed since the first college factory emerged in the DPRK.

During the hard-fought war President Kim Il Sung visited this newly-established college (July 15, 1951) several times and indicated detailed ways for running and managing it and displaying its advantages and energetically led the work for their materialization.

General secretary Kim Jong Il clarified the tasks and ways to increase factory colleges and raise the qualitative level of education at those colleges and improve the educational method.

A lot of factory colleges were set up in different parts of the country under the wise guidance of the peerlessly great persons and turned into credible bases for technical personnel and centres for scientific and technological development of the country.

A national meeting took place at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre on July 28 to mark the day.

Present there were Choe Thae Bok, secretary of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, Kang Nung Su, vice-premier of the Cabinet, officials concerned and officials, teachers and students of factory colleges.

Kim Yong Jin, chairman of the Education Commission, delivered a report at the meeting.
