Feats Praised by Indian Figure
Pyongyang, July 27 (KCNA) -- Suneet Chopra, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) who is secretary general of the All-India Indo-Korean Friendship Association, issued a statement on July 21 on the 58th anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

July 27, 1953 was a significant day when the army and people of the DPRK defeated the U.S. imperialists in the three year-long fierce Fatherland Liberation War under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung, the statement said.

The army and people of the DPRK defended the independence of the country and the sovereignty of the nation from the imperialists' aggression, shattered to the smithereens the myth of the "mightiness" of the U.S. imperialists who had boasted of being the "strongest" in the world and brought about the beginning of a downhill turn for them, it noted.

The undying feats performed by the President in winning the war and the ever-victorious tradition of the Korean people are shining more brightly thanks to the Songun politics of general secretary Kim Jong Il, it said.

No force on earth can match the might of the single-hearted unity of the army and people of the DPRK rallied close around him, it stressed.
