This was in recognition of his positive support to the Korean people in their struggle to achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country and build a thriving socialist country and his distinguished contribution to boosting the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.

An awarding ceremony took place at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on July 25.
