WHO Plans to Support DPRK's Telemedicine Service
Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) --The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that it would support the DPRK in expanding telemedicine service in the country, said VOA.

WHO considers the telemedicine service started in the DPRK in 2008 has proved successful, the radio said, adding:

In a recently issued report concerning its activities in southeast Asia, WHO said it confirmed the possibility of the service's development in the country through its initial success.

Many Koreans benefit from the telemedicine network.

The telemedicine network, called a long-distance medical service in the DPRK, links hospitals with each other through optical fibre cable and helps treat patients from far away through computers.

WHO pays deep concern to the DPRK's telemedicine service.
