US-Japan Military Alliance Aimed at China: Russian Radio
Moscow, July 20 (KCNA) -- A Russian radio reported an article disclosing the purpose of the U.S.-Japan military alliance on Monday.

Some time ago, the U.S. and Japanese defense chiefs agreed to strengthen military ties to cope with challenges in the Asia-Pacific region, the article said. By the challenges, they mean the increasing military strength of China, and they are directing the spearhead of the military alliance against China.

The U.S., afraid of China becoming a "marine power" and "air power", is using Japan as a main means for pressuring China, the article said, adding:

The U.S. and Japan threaten to take joint actions if China fails to behave itself well. For this purpose, they may launch joint military exercises getting on China's nerves.
