China Welcomes Peace Accord in Sudan

| Beijing, July 20 (KCNA) -- A spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry in a news briefing on Tuesday welcomed a peace accord the Sudanese government signed with the Darfur rebel forces. Both sides inked the agreement in Doha, Qatar, on July 14. The spokesperson said the agreement is another positive thing in the political process of Darfur and a manifestation of the Sudanese government's sincere effort to solve the Darfur issue in a political way through talks. China hopes that the agreement will be implemented in a proper way, the spokesperson added. |
