DPRK Academic Degrees and Titles Awarded to Intellectuals
Pyongyang, July 20 (KCNA) -- Academic degrees and titles were conferred on intellectuals who achieved successes in the drive to implement the Workers' Party of Korea's line of attaching importance to science and technology with due ceremony Wednesday.

The title of candidate academician went to Ri Sung Ik, chief of an institute of Pyongyang Medical College of Kim Il Sung University, Jong Jong Su, researcher at Pyongyang Agricultural College of Kim Il Sung University, Choe Hwa Il, teacher of Pyongyang University of Railways, and Kim Pong Il, chief of an institute of Nampho University of Agriculture.

Professorship was awarded to Kim Yong Il, a teacher at Kim Hyong Jik University of Education, Jo Chang Jun, department head of University of National Economics, Ri Won Mo, researcher of Pyongyang University of Foreign Studies, and Mun Chang Ryong, dean of a faculty of Phyongsong University of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry.

Doctorate was conferred on Jon Tong Chol, dean of a faculty of Kim Il Sung University, Choe Yong Chol, a teacher of Kim Chaek University of Technology, Kwon Myong Gon, deputy chief engineer of the Rakwon Machine Complex, and others and associate professorship on 73.
