China Lodges Solemn Representations on Obama-Dalai Meeting
Beijing, July 19 (KCNA) -- A spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry in a statement on July 17 lodged solemn representations on the U.S. chief executive's meeting with the Dalai Lama despite the opposition.

The U.S. side not only allowed the Dalai Lama to visit the U.S. but made obstinate arrangement of its chief executive's meeting with the Dalai Lama and thus gravely breached the basic rules of international relations and damaged the Sino-American relations, the spokesperson said, and went on:

The Dalai Lama is a political exile who has served the separatist activities against China under the guise of religion for a long period. China is resolutely opposed to any chief executive's meeting with the Dalai Lama in any form.

The U.S. should stop interfering in the internal affairs of China and neither connive nor support the separatist forces standing for "Tibet independence".

That day the vice-minister of Foreign Affairs of China made an urgent summon to the charge d'affaires of the U.S. embassy in Beijing to lodge solemn representations on the U.S. arrangement of its chief executive's meeting with the Dalai Lama
