Suppression of Trade Unions Protested in S. Korea
Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions held a candlelight rally in Seoul on July 15 in protest against the "government" authorities' suppression of trade unions.

The Confederation accused the management sides of the Hanjin Heavy Industries Co. Ltd., and the Yusong Enterprise of dismissing and cracking down on unionists in the plea of lay-off system.

It also pointed out that the prosecution's investigation into members of the Teachers Union and the Government Employees' Union by linking them with the Democratic Labor Party is evidently aimed at trade unions.

The organization demanded that the authorities stop the suppression of trade unions and ensure the political right of unionists.
