S. Korean Authorities Hit for Brushing aside Workers' Demand for Wage Hike
Pyongyang, July 17 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Democratic Labor Party of south Korea in a commentary on July 13 condemned the authorities for brushing aside the demand of the workers for wage hike.

The Minimum Wage Committee on July 12 railroaded the 2012 bill on the hike of minimum wage in an absence of worker representatives, the commentary said.

The bill reflected the stand of the businessmen to drastically lower the hike limits, not the demand of the people to raise the minimum wage to 50 percent of the average wage of the workers, it noted.

It blamed Lee Myung Bak and the minister of Employment and Labor for appointing those who knew nothing about the wage issue to the post of members of the Minimum Wage Committee.

It urged the "government" to make an apology for railroading the bill and accept the demand of the people.
