Campaign for Honor Student Prize Active in DPRK
Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) -- A campaign for July 15 Honor Student Prize is on a high tide among secondary school students of the DPRK.

The government confers the prize on those who finish the school course with honors.

The campaign was launched in the country after a national meeting of honor students of secondary schools held in August Juche 79 (1990).

Since the start of the campaign, there has been a big progress in the study of secondary school students.

Pyongyang Kansong Secondary School, Pyongyang Secondary School No. 1, Changdok School and East Pyongyang Secondary School No. 1 are taking the lead in the campaign.

In particular, Pyongyang Kansong Secondary School is well known for a large number of students honored with the prize.

A student of Pyongyang Pothonggang Secondary School, Kim Son Nam, told KCNA he would work hard in the remaining days of the school to win the prize without fail.

Korean students of secondary schools have proved successful at international contests, including the 50th International Mathematical Olympiad.
