Chinese Magazine on Ever-green Sino-DPRK Friendship
Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) -- The 28th issue of the Chinese magazine Liaowang carried an article contributed by Gao Haorong, former correspondent of the Xinhua News Agency in Pyongyang, under the title of "Motive Force of 5 Decade-long Sino-DPRK Friendship and Cooperation."

July 11 is the day when China and the DPRK signed the treaty of friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance, the article noted, and continued:

Over the last half century the Sino-DPRK relations of friendship and cooperation have steadily grown stronger thanks to the concerted efforts of the two peoples, standing all tests and weather, and they are now blossoming and yielding fruits in various fields.

The most important characteristics of the Sino-DPRK friendship is Chinese and DPRK leaders' regular exchange of visits to deepen understanding.

General Secretary Kim Jong Il visited China three times in a year from last May to May this year. This is something very rare in the history of bilateral relations, a clear proof of particular ties between China and the DPRK.

It referred in detail to the facts that the enlarged meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea was convened in connection with his recent visit to China, celebrations of the 90th anniversary of the founding the Communist Party of China were held and exchange and cooperation got brisk between the two countries in various fields including economy, culture, education, science and technology.
