S. Korean Prof. Chides US Poor Human Rights Record
Pyongyang, July 14 (KCNA) -- A professor of south Korea recently posted on Internet paper Thongil News an article disclosing the poor human rights record in the U.S.

The number of those killed by others or committing suicide in the U.S. every year reaches tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands of persons are using drugs, the article said.

Recalling that 13 million persons are affected by various crimes, the article said the U.S. has the poorest human rights record as evidenced by the facts that nearly one million women are raped and millions of children are subject to violence, starvation and maltreatment.

All these statistical figures are based on the objective data opened to the public by U.S. media, government reports, research data, etc., the article said, and went on:

The U.S. is far removed from human rights norms as it is advocating "human rights" whenever an opportunity presents itself and arrogantly pulling up world people and interfering in the internal affairs of sovereign states under its pretext and resorting to all sorts of conspiratorial and false propaganda when they incur its displeasure.

Scathingly accusing the U.S. of talking about "human rights issue of the north", it said the U.S. is not qualified to say anything about human rights.
