Sweat Pear Trees Grow in Reclaimed Tideland
Pyongyang, July 13 (KCNA) -- Sweat pear trees are growing in a reclaimed tideland farm in Onchon County, Nampho City, the DPRK.

Each fruit weighs 350-500g and its sugar content is more than 14 percent.

Two years after planting, the tree begins to bear fruit. Tens of tons of fruits can be gathered from each hectare.

The tree, called sujin sweat pear tree, has already been acclimatized to some areas of Korea, but not to salty soil.

Scientists of the Botany Institute of the State Academy of Sciences, through years of research, solved scientific and technological problems concerning the cultivation of the tree in reclaimed tideland.
