Japanese Calls for Improved DPRK-Japan Ties
Pyongyang, July 12 (KCNA) -- Hiroji Nakagawa, head of the Japanese delegation of the Nagano Prefectural People's Council for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea, had an interview with KCNA at Pyongyang Koryo Hotel Monday before returning home.

We were struck with admiration at the reality of the DPRK, he said, adding:

During the visit we toured the E-Library of Kim Il Sung University, the Taedonggang Combined Fruit Farm, the Ostrich Farm in the suburbs of Pyongyang and other places.

This visit made us deeply feel that everything serves the people in the DPRK.

The Korean people are striving to open the gate to a great prosperous and powerful nation, true to the leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

We extend greetings to them dynamically advancing full of confidence.

We heartily hope that Kim Jong Il will enjoy good health and the DPRK further prosper.

We are grateful for the relief fund the DPRK offered Japan over the massive quake and tsunami this year that claimed great human and material losses.

Referring to the fact that the Japanese government does not work for peace in Northeast Asia including the Korean Peninsula, he further said:

The Japanese government seeks only sanctions on the DPRK.

It should take concrete steps to improve the relations between the two countries with proper judgment on the situation.

Only then, is it possible to ensure the relationship of confidence between the two countries, I believe.
