Anniversary of Demise of Kim Il Sung Commemorated Abroad
Pyongyang, July 12 (KCNA) -- Events were held in various countries between July 3 and 5 to commemorate the 17th anniversary of demise of President Kim Il Sung.

They included remembrance meetings, book and photo exhibitions and film shows in Russia, Guinea, South Africa, India and Austria.

On display at their venues were works of Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il, photos on their exploits and books and photos introducing the DPRK.

The chairman of the Dagestan Association for the Study of the Juche Idea and Songun Policy of Russia said that Kim Il Sung's was life dedicated to the freedom and independence of Korea and the happiness of its people.

His lifetime, a good example of devoted service to the nation and the socialist cause, greatly encourages many world people aspiring after independence against imperialism, the chairman said.

The director general of the Kim Il Sung Institute of Agricultural Science in Guinea said the President is always alive as Kim Jong Il is creditably carrying on the President's cause with absolute loyalty to him.

The secretary of the Mfumalanga Provincial Committee of the South African Communist Party who doubles as chairman of the South African Association of Friendship and Solidarity with Korean People said: Kim Il Sung is a great man as he devoted all his life only to the happiness and well-being of the people and performed great exploits for human cause of independence.

Korean Films shown included "The Country I Saw" and "The Tower of the Juche Idea".

Messages to Kim Jong Il were adopted at the events in India and Austria.
