Homage Paid to Kim Il Sung at Kumsusan Memorial Palace
Pyongyang, July 8 (KCNA) -- Senior party and state officials, the chairperson of a friendly party and officials of party and power organs, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions visited the Kumsusan Memorial Palace on Friday to pay tribute to President Kim Il Sung on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of his demise.

Seen before the statue of the President was a floral basket in the joint name of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the Central Military Commission of the WPK, the DPRK National Defence Commission, the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly and the DPRK Cabinet.

They paid high tribute to the statue of the President.

They paid homage in humble reverence to the President who devoted his whole life to the liberation and prosperity of the country and happiness of the Korean people and made an immortal contribution to global independence.

Among the visitors were commanding officers of the Korean People's Army, anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters, servicepersons, people from all walks of life, overseas Koreans and the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front.

Among the foreigners who visited there included diplomatic envoys, representatives of international organizations of different countries and the military attaches corps here and an art group of dance drama "Confetti on Silk Road" of the Gansu Provincial Song and Dance Theatre of China.
