S. Korean Police's Crackdown upon Pro-reunification Champion Blasted
Pyongyang, July 8 (KCNA) -- Paek Ki Wan, director of the Reunification Study Center of south Korea, on July 5 rejected the police's summons for appearing at the police station for the mere reason that he took part in the actions for supporting the strike of the trade union of the Hanjin Heavy Industries Co. Ltd.

He denounced the police for forcing him to appear at the police station till July 8, a day before it was expected to stage the second action for supporting the strike of trade union members.

They are standing at the crossroads: whether to win in the fight against the wicked Lee Myung Bak regime or die in the actions, he said, declaring he would never respond to the police's call but will fight it out.

Meanwhile, the police took such fascist actions as issuing summons to appear at the police station for at least 90 reunification activists and artistes who took part in recent actions for solidarity with workers and students in their struggle.
