S. Korean Police Suppress Workers in Their Actions for Right to Existence
Pyongyang, July 7 (KCNA) -- The south Korean police on July 4 put down the actions of workers for vital rights outside the Young Do Shipbuilding Yard of the Hanjin Heavy Industries Co. Ltd., and walked off participants.

Workers including members of the Pusan Headquarters of the Confederation of Trade Unions who had been on sit-in strikes for several days in protest against the management side's unreasonable layoff held a candlelight rally outside the yard that day.

When the rally was declared open, the riot police which cordoned off the yard labeled the candlelight action illegal and took away more than 20 workers and citizens to police stations.
