At the symposium Li Changchun, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC, noted that President Hu Jintao at the celebrations of the 90th CPC birthday clarified the goal and task for raising the scientific level of party building and the policy for advancing the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

He underscored the need to deeply study and grasp the speech of Hu Jintao and orientate thinking and action to carrying it out.
