S. Korean Authorities Hit for Blocking Media Exchange
Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- The Press Headquarters of the South Side Committee for Implementing June 15 Joint Declaration on July 1 issued a statement titled "We strongly protest Lee Myung Bak regime's ban on exchange in media between south and north".

We can not repress wrath at the Lee "government" for having blocked media exchange between the south and the north, the statement said, urging that exchange and cooperation in media should be realized without fail for the peaceful reunification of the nation.

The "government" brought the inter-Korean relations to the brink of a total war through its unilateral "policy toward the north" in negation of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, it charged.

Moreover, the authorities put a total ban on inter-Korean cooperation and exchange not only in media but also between NGOs under the pretext of the "May 24 step", it pointed out.

Media exchange is essential for cooperation and exchange in various fields including politics, economy and culture, it noted.

The statement urged the Lee "government" to stop at once such actions obstructive to the peaceful reunification movement of nation as ban on media exchange.
