Japan Urged to Make Legal Reparation for Sexual Slavery
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- The 975th Wednesday rally for the settlement of the issue of "comfort women" for the Japanese Imperial Army took place in Seoul on June 29 under the sponsorship of the Citizen's Solidarity for Democratic Society in south Korea.

Present there were victims to the sexual slavery, civic and social organizations in south Korea and a trade union in Japan.

A statement read out at the rally said not only south Koreans of different social standings but the international community demand Japan take responsibility for the crimes related to sexual slavery and make legal reparation for them.

The statement accused the Japanese government of still refusing official apology and reparation to the victims.

It urged the Japanese authorities to take immediate measures for apology and reparation for Japan's past crimes.

The Lee Myung Bak regime should also take responsible diplomatic attitude toward the settlement of the "comfort women" issue, it stressed.
