International Efforts to Prevent AIDS
Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- International efforts are being increased to prevent AIDS, the cause of miserable misfortune and calamities for humankind.

A UN high-level meeting on AIDS was held from June 8 to 10 with heads of state and government and delegates of more than 20 countries attending.

We cannot combat AIDS without international solidarity, Nigerian President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan said, calling for expanding cooperation in the drive to prevent AIDS.

It is of special importance to pay deep attention to preventing AIDS among children, Rwandan President Paul Kagame noted.

Mozambican Prime Minister Aires Ali said his country would pay primary efforts to preventing AIDS till 2015.

A declaration adopted at the meeting called for strengthening international cooperation to prevent children from being infected with AIDS, eliminate human toll by AIDS and conduct preventive medical care till 2015.
