Chinese Film Week Opens in DPRK
Pyongyang, June 29 (KCNA) -- A Chinese film week was open in the DPRK to mark the 90th anniversary of the Communist Party of China.

An opening ceremony took place at the Taedongmun Cinema House Wednesday.

Present there were Kim Ki Nam, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Minister of Public Health Choe Chang Sik, chairman of the Central Committee of the DPRK-China Friendship Association, An Tong Chun, minister of Culture, and others, Ambassador Liu Hongcai and Chinese embassy officials here and Chinese residents and Chinese guests staying in the DPRK.

Speeches were made at the ceremony.

An Tong Chun said the fraternal Chinese people have registered great achievements in the drive to put into practice a scientific outlook on development and build a harmonious society this year, the first year of the 12th Five-Year Plan under the leadership of the CPC.

The Korean people will boost the exchange and cooperation between the two countries in all fields of culture and art including movie art in the days ahead, he stressed.

Liu Hongcai said the film show will greatly contribute to jointly celebrating the 90th anniversary of the CPC in the two countries and record a brilliant chapter in the history of Sino-DPRK exchange of culture and art.

And it will offer an opportunity to know about the history of the Chinese revolution, he said, stressing the need to boost the friendly relations between the two parties and the two countries in the future.

The participants watched a Chinese feature film.
