Remains of More Martyrs Buried in Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery
Pyongyang, June 29 (KCNA) -- Remains of more martyrs who performed feats in achieving the prosperity of the country and accomplishing the socialist cause were buried in the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery on the suburbs with due ceremonies in the DPRK on June 28 and 29.

They included former General Officer of the Korean People's Army Kim Kun Ok who contributed to sinking a heavy cruiser of the U.S. imperialists with four torpedo boats in the Jumunjin naval battle in the period of the Fatherland Liberation War and former KPA General Officer Ri Su Hyon who contributed to the strengthening and development of revolutionary armed forces for several decades after the liberation of the country.

Also among them were O Tae Hyong, sculptor of the Mansudae Art Studio, Kwon Jong Ung, writer of the April 15 Literary Production Company, Kim Su Jo, president of the Phibada Opera Troupe, and Yun Ki Jong, former minister of Finance.

Present at the ceremonies were Kim Jong Im, director of the Party History Institute of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, servicepersons and members of bereaved families.

After speeches were made, the remains were buried in the cemetery.

Participants laid wreaths and bouquets before the graves of the martyrs and paid silent tribute to them.
