Korean People's Struggle Supported in France
Pyongyang, June 28 (KCNA) -- A solidarity meeting with the Korean people took place in France on June 18 to mark the 11th anniversary of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration.

Displayed in the venue were works of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il and photos showing their exploits.

Present there were personages of various circles including the international secretary of the Central Committee of the French Revolutionary Communist League, the president of the France-Korea Friendship Association, the director-general of the European Society for the Study of the Juche Idea and the honorary chairman and the secretary general of the International Liaison Committee for Reunification and Peace in Korea and popular masses.

Speeches were made there.

Robert Charvin, honorary chairman of the International Liaison Committee, said the adoption of the joint declaration was a historic event which brought about an epoch-making turn in the reunification movement of the Korean nation.

He noted the inter-Korean relations of mistrust and confrontation was turned into those of reconciliation and cooperation and a bright future of Korea's reunification opened after the publication of the joint declaration the core of which is the idea of "By our nation itself" provided by Kim Jong Il.

He said the Lee Myung Bak clique totally denied the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and escalated division and confrontation in collusion with foreign forces.

The tension rising on the Korean Peninsula due to the anti-DPRK confrontation policy of the south Korean authorities has not led to a war entirely thanks to the peace-loving policy of the DPRK, he said.

All the progressive forces in France should support the DPRK's efforts for peaceful reunification and wage on a wide scale the solidarity activity denouncing the anti-reunification moves of the Lee Myung Bak clique, he said.
