Events Held Abroad to Mark Significant Anniversary of DPRK
Pyongyang, June 26 (KCNA) -- Events took place in different countries between June 8 and 19 to mark the 47th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 11th anniversary of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration.

They included seminars, film shows and photo exhibitions in Russia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar, the Czech Republic, Cambodia, Germany and Mongolia.

Displayed in their venues were works of Kim Jong Il and photos showing his undying Songun leadership feats.

Koreans films shown included "Fireworks for a Thriving Nation" and "Pyongyang at Night".

Kim Jong Il, possessed of distinguished leadership ability, has led the army and people to the struggle for defending socialism under the banner of Songun, said the chairwoman of the Party for Peace and Unity of Russia at a seminar.

Under his leadership the Korean People's Army has grown to be an invincible army armed with the steadfast spirit of defending socialism and modern military equipment, she noted.

The chairman of the External Relations Commission of the People's Party of Cambodia said that his party rejects the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK and fully supports the DPRK's efforts for durable peace and stability of the Korean Peninsula.

The chief of the Franken Group for the Study of the Juche Idea of Germany said that the U.S. which resorts to high-handed and arbitrary practices in international arena, too, dare not provoke the DPRK under the Songun policy of Kim Jong Il. Korea's reunification is sure to be realized when all Koreans advance under the banner of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, he added.

Messages of greetings to Kim Jong Il were adopted at seminars in Russia and Germany.
