Probe into Army Accidental Firing at Passenger Plane Urged in S. Korea
Pyongyang, June 24 (KCNA) -- The south Korean paper Hangyore on June 20 carried an editorial urging a probe into the case of accidental firing at a passenger plane by the puppet army.

At dawn of June 17 the marines of south Korea stationed in Kanghwa County's Kyodong Island fired rifle bullets at a passenger plane of Asiana Airlines on normal flight for ten minutes, the paper noted.

A lot of doubts are arising over this case which might cause a big disaster, but the Defense Ministry tries to downplay it as a "sudden happening", it charged.

Those concerned of the navigation company are unanimous in saying that the case is "unprecedented and fathomless", it said, adding:

To begin with, it is not clear why they fired at the passenger plane on routine flight.

The military has asserted that it was due to bad weather from dense fog at dawn.

Just after the case it claimed the passenger plane might be deviated from route, seeking to avoid the blame, but later admitted its error.

It is also hard to understand the fact that the case was opened to public by media, not by the military or the company side. It is likely that the military tried to conceal the case and threatened the company side not to open it to public.

The military should open to public the truth about the case.
