Amendment to Law on Trade Unions Demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, June 23 (KCNA) -- The Confederation of Trade Unions and the Federation of Trade Unions of south Korea rejected the present Law on Trade Unions at a joint press conference on June 20, south Korean KBS reported.

The authorities railroaded a "draft amendment to the Law on Trade Unions" last year the keynote of which is to stop paying wages to the full-time union officials, the organizations said, adding this deprived the workers of the three labor rights, their basic rights.

This law should be revised again at an early date, they urged.

If the authorities refuse to accept the demand, they will be made to pay for it, the organizations warned.
