S. Korea: Authorities Accused of Human Rights Abuses
Pyongyang, June 22 (KCNA) -- The Ssangryong Motor Trade Union and various organizations of south Korea held a rally outside the Constitutional Court on June 16 to protest the puppet authorities' human rights abuses.

The organizations included the Bar Association for Democratic Society and the Catholic Human Rights Committee.

The ralliers recalled that the prosecution issued an order to extract gene of members of the said union, who waged an action for vital rights, and forcibly extracted gene from Ryongsan evacuees who have been detained in prison for no ground.

In order to intensify the suppression of participants in rallies and demos, the authorities cooked up a law on gene-based identification and enforced it from July last year, they noted.

This evil law has been rejected by various social circles from the outset of its enactment, they said, adding that its unethical nature was confirmed more clearly this time.

If this law whereby anyone standing against social injustice is to be put under the supervision of the authorities all his life, is allowed to be in force, all the people will be incriminated, they deplored.

They demanded abolition of this evil law serving to violate human rights.
