S. Korean Police Hit for Suppressing Reunification Activists
Pyongyang, June 22 (KCNA) -- The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification of south Korea (Phyongthongsa) hit out at the puppet police for its harsh suppression of reunification activists. It issued a statement on June 19.

At dawn that day the police searched the houses of the permanent representative of the Taegu-North Kyongsang Provincial Headquarters of the South Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration and the policy section chief of the Andong Phyongthongsa and its school, the statement said.

The police invoked the "National Security Law" for the mere reason that they posed data on the north on homepage, it noted, branding it as apparent crackdown on freedom of thinking and conscience.

It noted those data had already been known to the world through media, adding that this is aimed to suppress and downsize the reunification movement.

The organization will wage a positive struggle against the unwarranted suppression by police, the statement said.
