During his visit he had talks with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.

They exchanged views on the issue of developing bilateral relations, economic cooperation, in particular, and on series of matters of common concern.

A joint statement was published during the visit.

Hu laid a wreath before the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and attended the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum during his stay.
