Korean People's Efforts for National Reunification Backed
Pyongyang, June 21 (KCNA) -- A regional body and different countries issued statements on June 13 and 15 to mark the 11th anniversary of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration.

The Pan-African Movement in a statement said that the joint declaration provided by general secretary Kim Jong Il is a great programme as it indicated the way for the Korean people to reunify the country independently and peacefully on the principle of great national unity.

The Democratic Congo-Korea Friendship and Solidarity Association in a statement said that thanks to the joint declaration a new era of independent reunification was opened for the Korean nation and unprecedented achievements made in the north-south relations.

The Finland-Korea Society in a statement noted that after the publication of the joint declaration an atmosphere of dialogue and cooperation between the north and the south was created, reunions of separated families and their relatives realized and brisk exchange made in various fields.

The Group for the Study of Works of Kim Jong Il in Denmark in a statement said that it is important to remove the stumbling block lying in the way of reunifying Korea as soon as possible. The statement expressed support and solidarity for the Korean people in their struggle to reunify the country independently and peacefully.

The All-India Indo-Korean Friendship Association, the All-India Agricultural Workers' Union, the All-India Federation of Lawyers and the All-India Peasants' Union in their joint statement urged the south Korean authorities to stop the anti-DPRK moves and opt for implementing the joint declaration.

The Indonesian Federation of Transport Workers Unions in a statement expressed belief that under the leadership of Kim Jong Il the Korean people would certainly reunify the country in the near future, holding high the banner of the joint declaration.
