Actions for Probing Truth about U.S. Forces' Crimes Launched in S. Korea
Pyongyang, June 20 (KCNA) -- Different circles of south Korea are conducting actions for thoroughly probing the truth about the case of environment pollution by the U.S. forces, according to Voice of People, an Internet radio of south Korea, on June 14.

The People's Measure Council Demanding Probe into the Case of Defoliant Burial by the U.S. Forces and Restoration of Polluted Environment said it is needed to make a comprehensive and thoroughgoing investigation into the U.S. troops' defoliant burial in its Waegwan military base.

The Council groups at least 80 organizations including the Citizens' Solidarity for Democratic Society, the Green Federation and the Environment Movement Association.

It declared that it would intensify the action for probing the truth about the criminal deeds of the U.S. forces and restoring the polluted areas.

Civic and public organizations in Inchon said that they would make a thoroughgoing probe into the disposal of toxic materials by the U.S. forces in its Puphyong military base.

The Kunsan City, North Jolla Province, Assembly formed a joint investigation group with nongovernmental organizations to find facts about environment pollution in the Kunsan U.S. air-force base and went into action.

The management of Chunchon City, south Korean Kangwon Province, said that the primary results of investigation into the defoliant burial in the U.S. military base in the city failed to clear doubts about the case. It urged the Defense Ministry to come out for reinvestigation.
