DPRK Taekwon-Do Demonstration Group Performs in US
Pyongyang, June 16 (KCNA) -- A Taekwon-do demonstration group of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee staged demonstration performances in Delaware State, the U.S., on June 14, winning a high acclaim of American citizens and Koreans in the U.S.

DPRK flags were seen hanging in the venues of the performances, which were packed to their capacity with Taekwon-Do fans and spectators who gathered to watch Korean Taekwon-Do.

After the national anthem of the DPRK was played, demonstration performances started.

The group staged 16 kinds of Taekwon-Do numbers including Taekwon-Do exercise for health to the tune of cheerful music.

The spectators broke into enthusiastic cheers whenever Taekwon-Do numbers showing the resourcefulness and staunch spirit of the Korean nation and the might of orthodox martial art were presented one by one and dynamic movements were performed.

VOA in a special program said that the demonstration performances of difficult movements and numbers based on good themes were reminiscent of scenes from a film.

They evoked a lively response from among citizens of various strata and students of the U.S.

Prior to the demonstration performances, the spectators watched a video showing the grand gymnastic and artistic performance "Arirang", a winner of Kim Il Sung Prize.

Major media of China, the U.S., Japan and other countries gave wide publicity to the news of the demonstration performances of the Korean Taekwon-do demonstration group and its sojourn in the U.S.
