School Youth and Children Tour Revolutionary Sites in Mt. Paektu Area
Pyongyang, June 16 (KCNA) -- School youth and children from across the country made a study tour of the revolutionary sites and battle sites in the area of Mt. Paektu from June 8 to 16 on the lapse of 55 years since General Secretary Kim Jong Il explored the course of study tour of the sites.

They laid floral baskets and flowers before the statues of President Kim Il Sung at the Victorious Battle of Pochonbo Memorial Tower, the Pochonbo Revolutionary Battle Site, the shore of Lake Samji and the Chongbong Bivouac and the mosaic of the three commanders of Mt. Paektu erected in the Mt. Paektu secret camp before paying tribute to them.

They went round revolutionary historic sites including Pochonbo Revolutionary Battle Site, the Samjiyon Grand Monument and the shore of Lake Samji. They made the rounds of the area of Samjiyon Township which underwent radical changes.

They climbed Mt. Paektu, the sacred mountain of revolution, and visited Konchang, Pegae Hill, the Chongbong Bivouac, etc.

During their tour they had diverse political and cultural events including a gathering to hear impressions of reminiscences of anti-Japanese guerrillas read and a contest among ranks of marchers singing revolutionary songs in chorus.
