Kim Jong Il's Successful Unofficial Visit to China Hailed in Different Countries
Pyongyang, June 16 (KCNA) -- A lecture was given in Russia, a seminar took place in Pakistan and a reading session in Nigeria between June 7 and 9 to congratulate General Secretary Kim Jong Il on his successful unofficial visit to China.

Dmitri Kostenko, chairman of the Russian Association for the Study of the Juche Idea, said that Kim Jong Il's unofficial visit to China was a historic visit of weighty significance in developing the DPRK-China friendly relations on a higher stage, powerfully promoting socialist construction in the two countries and achieving peace, security and prosperity in Northeast Asia and the rest of the world.

Kim Jong Il frustrated the U.S. imperialists and their allied forces' moves to stifle the DPRK, the chairman noted.

The chairman of the Pakistan Association for Self-Reliance Studies and other speakers said that Kim Jong Il visited China even under the complicated situation, deepening the ever-lasting DPRK-China friendship.

While staying in China, he toured significant areas associated with unforgettable memories of the days when President Kim Il Sung waged the hard-fought anti-Japanese armed struggle, providing an occasion of a new turn in boosting the DPRK-China friendship, they noted.

Igwanagu Nicholas, chairman of the Nigerian Group for the Study of Kimjongilism, said that his visit to China proved successful under the particular care and cordial hospitality of President Hu Jintao and the Chinese party and government. This was an important event which put the international position of the DPRK onto a higher stage, he added.
