Forest Fires, State of Emergency Declared in Russia
Moscow, June 13 (KCNA) -- The areas hit by forest fires which occurred in Russia due to sweltering weather, thunders and human factors trebled as compared with those last year.

According to the Russian Ministry of State of Emergency, there were 214 forest fires on June 10 alone and hardest hit were Khabarovsk Territory, Irkutsk Region, Tomsk Region, the Republic of Buryatiya, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region and Hanti-Mansi Autonomous Region.

More than 2,000 personnel and 200 technical apparatuses were involved in the extinguishment of forest fires in Krasnoyarsk Territory and a state of emergency was declared there.
