It was attended by Choe Ryong Hae, secretary of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea, Ryang Man Gil, chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee, officials concerned, players and school youth and children.

Hwang Pong Yong, chairman of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee, made an opening address.

The championship brought together hundreds of players selected from Taekwon-Do teams, schoolchildren's palaces and halls in various places. They will compete in Taekwon-Do, Paduk and Korean wrestling events.
