Prosecution's Suppression of Progressive Forces Slammed in S. Korea
Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- Civic and public organizations, including the Confederation of Trade Unions, and opposition parties of south Korea held a press conference in Seoul on June 7 demanding a stop to the suppression of the progressive forces.

Speakers at the conference said that the prosecution authorities have made investigation and searches into the confederation and its industrial trade unions from May on the suspicion that they offered aid funds to the progressive political parties.

This base action is aimed to obstruct the mega-merger of the progressive forces desired by the popular masses and put down the labor movement organizations, they pointed out.

The prosecution is getting hell-bent on the repression of the progressive forces only while turning aside the conservatives' offer of political aid funds to the "Grand National Party" and the irregularities and corruption by big businessmen and officeholders, they charged.

They stressed that the people from all walks of life would achieve the unity and solidarity of the progressive forces and certainly punish the vicious present "government" and the prosecution, its stooge.
