US Would Not Yield Asia
Moscow, June 8 (KCNA) -- The Russian paper Nezabisimaya Gazetta on June 7 carried an article "The U.S. will not yield Asia to China".

The paper said as follows.

U.S. Secretary of Defense Gates said that it would maintain its military intervention in the region, speaking at the recent Asian security meeting held in Singapore.

He assured its participants that it would not evade the fulfillment of its commitment to "protect" its allies.

He continued:

The U.S. will maintain its military bases in the Asian region and boost the mutual cooperation with Japan, south Korea, Australia and Singapore.

It will continue dispatching its forces to its "outposts" and will not cease its military exercises with its allies in the region. It will also expand its intervention in Southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean.
