DPRK's Significant Days Observed Abroad
Pyongyang, June 9 (KCNA) --Diverse events were held in different countries from May 26 to June 2 to mark the 47th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's start of his work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 11th anniversary of the publication of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration. They included a meeting and a photo exhibition in Romania, a seminar in the Czech Republic and a reading session in Guinea.

On display in the venue of the photo exhibition were photographs on the undying feats of Kim Jong Il and other photos on the struggle of the Korean people for building a thriving nation.

Constantin Rotaru, chairman of the Romanian Socialist Union, in his speech said that Kim Jong Il developed the WPK into an invincible party.

He stressed that the Korean people foiled the imperialists' moves by dint of single-minded unity more powerful than a nuclear weapon, and have won victories only in the struggle to accomplish the socialist cause under the leadership of the WPK.

Jaroslav Kafka, chairman of the Paektusan Czech-Korean Friendship Association and chairman of the Czech Group for the Study and Materialization of the Juche Idea, praised Kim Jong Il for having enriched and developed the revolutionary idea and theory of President Kim Il Sung in the whole period of his work at the WPK Central Committee, performing great feats in party building and activities.

Riyad Chaloub, chief of the Guinean Group for the Study of February 16 Art, stressed that the June 15 joint declaration serves as an invariable banner for the movement for Korea's reunification.

A message to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the seminar in the Czech Republic.

Chairman M. Gamrul Huda and General Secretary Sheikh Rafiqul Islam Bablu of the Bangladesh Institute of the Juche Idea issued a joint statement on June 2 on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of Kim Jong Il's start of his work at the WPK Central Committee.
