New Comprehensive Fish Breeding Institute Appears
Pyongyang, June 8 (KCNA) -- A Korean-style comprehensive fish breeding institute has been successfully built in an area on the east coast of the DPRK. It researches into high quality fishes including salmon and breeds and processes them.

There are in the institute a comprehensive research centre which specializes in the analysis and research into salmon's propagation, stock, food and processing and a new scientific fish breeding research system.

On this basis, the institute has established a system for preserving pure breed for high quality fishes of various species and producing fries while systematically solving scientific and technological issues arising in breeding fishes in freshwater and seawater.

It is massively breeding salmon by perfecting the technology of securing fish breeds, producing their food and artificial hatching.

The research into fish breeding in natural conditions gained in depth, steadily increasing the economic effectiveness and profitability.

It has also successfully solved scientific and technological issues of simultaneously conducting breeding and processing of high quality fishes such as sturgeon, rainbow trout and Ryongjong fish.

There sprang up a food processing centre where all production processes ranging from raw material feeding to discharge of products are streamlined and a base for the production of high quality protein food containing amino acid and minerals.

A new fish processing factory with high capacity has gone operational. All its production processes including freezing, washing, smoke-drying, egg-processing, preserving fishes in salt, packing and storage are equipped with latest facilities.
