Chinese Ambassador Hosts Reception

Pyongyang, June 3 (KCNA) -- Liu Hongcai, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK, hosted a reception at his embassy Friday for officials of the International Affairs Department of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea in connection with General Secretary Kim Jong Il's successful China visit.

Present there on invitation were Kim Yong Il, secretary of the C.C, the WPK, and officials concerned.

Staff members of the Chinese embassy were present there.

Liu in a speech at the reception expressed the will to strive to develop friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries, defend common interests and achieve regional peace and stability.

Kim Yong Il in his speech recalled that it is the steadfast stand of the WPK and the government of the DPRK to consolidate the ties of fraternal relations of friendship rooted in the minds of the peoples of the two countries.
