Solidarity with Korean People Expressed in Democratic Congo
Pyongyang, June 2 (KCNA) -- Otete Gaston Mboyo, deputy general secretary of the C.C., the Communist Party of the Democratic Congo who is chairman of the Democratic Congo-Korea Friendship and Solidarity Association, issued a statement on May 23 in support of the decision of the senior officials' consultative meeting of the International Preparatory Committee for Commemorating the Centenary of Birth of President Kim Il Sung.

To splendidly commemorate the centenary of Kim Il Sung's birth as a great auspicious event in the history of mankind is an expression of the progressives' unanimous reverence for him and their due obligation, the statement said, adding:

We will organize diverse events on a wide scale to significantly commemorate the centenary of birth of the President, a great thinker-theoretician who made signal contribution to the human cause of independence.

We will conduct on a wider scale the activities of introducing the greatness and immortal exploits of General Secretary Kim Jong Il and make preparations with utmost sincerity to splendidly hold celebrations of the 10th anniversary of the meeting for greeting the sun in the 21st century at the secret camp in Mt. Paektu, birthplace of Kim Jong Il, in April 2012.

We will fully support the Korean people in their drive to build a thriving nation, the desire of the President.

We condemn the U.S. imperialists and their followers' moves for igniting a war against the DPRK and extend firm solidarity to the Korean people in the efforts to achieve the national reunification independently and peacefully on the principle of great national unity.
