Important Day of DPRK Marked Abroad
Pyongyang, June 2 (KCNA) -- Events took place in different countries between May 23 and 25 to mark the 47th anniversary of General Secretary Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

They included a lecture meeting in Guinea, round-table talks in Austria and film shows in Russia.

Appreciated at the shows were Korean films "The Party Founding Memorial Tower" and "Fireworks for a Thriving Nation."

The chairman of the Guinean Society for the Study of the Juche Literary Idea said that President Kim Il Sung, founder of socialist Korea, regarded it as his lifelong wish to provide a happy life to the people, who suffered from backwardness and poverty in the past, and worked heart and soul for its realization.

Inheriting the cause of the President, leader Kim Jong Il unfolded a plan to build in Korea a great prosperous and powerful socialist nation, which is enormous in national strength and where everything is thriving and the people lead a happy life with nothing more to desire, he said, adding:

The international community witnesses the realty of the DPRK in which the building of a thriving nation, the desire of Kim Il Sung and the ideal of Kim Jong Il, is being carried out.

The vice-chairman of the Society for the Promotion of the Relations between Austria and DPRK noted that the Korean people has defended socialism from every obstructive move of the imperialists and are conducting a dynamic drive to improve the standard of the people's living under the leadership of Kim Jong Il.

The director of the Radio-biology Laboratory of the United Nuclear Institute of Russia said that the credit for the admirable successes in the DPRK goes to the activities of the WPK headed by Kim Jong Il.
