Children Enjoy Their Holiday
Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- The children throughout the DPRK have celebrated the International Children's Day, June 1.

They have enjoyed the holiday with various sports games and amusements.

The DPRK government has paid deep concern to rearing children, regarding the nursing and upbringing of children as one of the most important state affairs.

The DPRK adopted the Law on the Nursing and Upbringing of Children at the Sixth Session of the Fifth Supreme People's Assembly in April Juche 65 (1976).

All the children receive equal benefits of the state, irrespective of their parents' occupation.

All nurseries and kindergartens are built and operated at public expense and they supply children with foodstuffs free of charge.

They direct the primary attention to educating the children in a healthy way and cultivating their talents.

A regular medical service is also available for all the children in the country.
