Revision of Unequal S. Korea-US SOFA Demanded
Pyongyang, May 30 (KCNA) -- The south Korean paper Kyunghyang Daily News on May 26 editorially called for an immediate revision of the unequal south Korea-U.S. SOFA.

A series of new testimonies have been made recently to the U.S. forces' burial of defoliant and the U.S. set about investigating the case but this is not enough, the editorial said, and continued:

What is essential and important for probing the truth about the burial of defoliant is to revise the south Korea-U.S. SOFA.

According to the present SOFA, south Korea has no right to make an independent investigation no matter how seriously the U.S. forces pollute environment in their base.

If the U.S. has an intention to make a sincere apology for its environmental pollution, it should opt for the revision of the unequal SOFA.

The "government," availing itself of this opportunity, should grasp from a new angle the seriousness of the environmental pollution in the U.S. forces base and demand the U.S. revise the SOFA.
